These lost funds and unclaimed property come from old bank accounts, insurance policies, uncashed checks, business accounts, safe deposit boxes and other sources. Every state and some Federal agencies are holding unclaimed property. In fact, it is said that there is over $30 billion dollars in unclaimed property listed by these agencies.
