There are many stories of how people have claimed their unclaimed cash or property. They are the stories that put a smile on your face and may make you wonder if it can happen to you. Here is a story that may make you laugh out loud. This is how not to claim unclaimed money.

A Jordanian salesman was arrested for forgery and attempted embezzlement in Dubai this week after using a doctored identification card. The doctoring of an ID card is not new; however, this salesman used a photo of Brad Pitt.

The 29-year-old man, referred to as T.H., claimed to not know the identity of the picture. T.H. claims he just downloaded a random photo off the internet.

T.H. was done in by an informant who divulged to police his attempt to get money for nothing.

It turns out there was another involved, T.H.’s brother identified as H.H. The brother worked in the Dubai money exchange as a teller. The teller reportedly told his brother of a money transfer of more than $23,000 which had arrived at the exchange more than three months ago and had not been claimed as of yet.

In his desire to collect the unclaimed sum T.H. manufactured a fake ID card using the name of the man to whom the money had been transferred (data given to him by his brother) and the photo of Pitt.

The Dubai Public Prosecution has charged the T.H. with forgery, using a fake document and attempted embezzlement.
